Weblogg-ed besteedde gisteren aandacht aan Wikimedia Commons. Weer zo’n initiatief waar rich content verzameld en gedeeld wordt. Bij Wiki Commons gaat het specifiek om materiaal dat gebruikt wordt in alle andere Wikimedia-projecten.

The Wikimedia Commons is a project that provides a central repository for free images, music, sound & video clips and, possibly, texts and spoken texts, used in pages of any Wikimedia project. Unlike images uploaded on other projects, images on Commons can be embedded on pages of all Wikimedia projects.

Als je met het materiaal aan de slag wil moet je eerst even bij het Wikimedia Commons community portal langs gaan.
