Dave Winer is ‘not amused’ …: Wat is er aan de hand? Adam Curry is genomineerd voor een award (lees Gaat Adam Curry in de prijzen vallen?). Echter, de eer valt niet alleen Adam te beurt. Dave Winer net zo goed. Dave de credits voor RSS (met ‘enclosures’) en Adam omdat hij Webfeeds/RSS op een slimme manier toepaste zodat MP3’s automatisch op een MP3–speler terecht kunnen komen (Podcatching).Vandaag kwam het hoge woord er bij Dave Winer uit. Op zijn Weblog Scripting News. Zo te zien laat hij Adam niet vallen. Hij valt Wired er op aan omdat die toch een steekje schijnen te laten vallen.
Four years ago: Payloads for RSS. “My company, UserLand, has a product in development called My.UserLand On The Desktop that supports both sides of this format.” We shipped it shortly after I wrote that piece. Next week, Wired may give Adam Curry an award, for work that I, not he, did. I’ve told them this is not cool. Haven’t heard yet what they plan to do about it. They offered to give me a free dinner. I’ll buy my own dinner, thanks. I want credit for my work. I don’t mind sharing it with Adam, because he was part of the invention. I’ve never been cheap with crediting Adam.
